Contra-Actions
You will feel very relaxed after your treatment; however sometimes either during or after a treatment you may experience the following contra-actions:

Emotional

Exceptionally tired
-
Dizzy
-
Nauseous
-
Headache
-
Aches &pains
-
Disturbed sleep or deeper sleep
-
More mucus in the nose
-
Increased urination

Holistic Facial specific

Temporary irritation, tightness, or redness. These are all normal reactions that typically resolve within 72 hours depending on skin sensitivity.

Tingling and stinging in the treatment area. These sensations generally subside within a few hours.

The skin is more susceptible to sunburn/sun damage.

Not everyone experiences a contra-action after a treatment but you should be aware that they might occur. These reactions are normal and are called a “healing crisis” where the body is reacting to the flushing away of toxins and re-balancing itself. Do not be alarmed if you do encounter any of these symptoms as they will not last long. However if you faint, vomit or have diarrhoea please seek medical advice.

Treatment Aftercare Advice
In order to ensure the full benefits of your treatment the following advice should be taken:

Drink plenty of water as this will help hydrate the body, flush out toxins and improve energy levels.

Avoid eating a heavy meal for up to 2 hours after your treatment as blood will be diverted to digestion rather than carrying oxygen and nutrients to other parts of your body and getting rid of waste.

Eat a light and healthy diet the rest of the day to allow your body to put its energy into healing.

Try to rest for the remainder of the day as this will help the treatment work to its full potential and will allow your body to begin the balancing/healing process.

Avoid tea, coffee and alcohol as these are stimulants and will reduce the effectiveness of the treatment.

Avoid hot bath/shower/sauna/steam room/swimming/sunbathing ideally for 24 hours.

Introduce into your lifestyle any type of activity/exercise that may be suitable for you.

Do deep breathing exercises to assist with taking in oxygen to your fullest capacity.

Take time to reflect and feel into the shifts is always beneficial. Journal to help process and integrate any shifts.

Be aware of emotional changes. Spend some time alone if needed.

If you have any spiritual or religious practices such as tai chi, yoga, meditation, or prayer, spend time nurturing your spiritual connection with those activities.

Regular treatments are recommended to maximise benefits. Follow therapist recommendations for further treatments.
Holistic Facial specific

Avoid sun exposure and use a minimum of SPF 40 sunscreen.
-
Avoid the use of aggressive exfoliation, waxing, and products containing glycolic acids or retinol that are not part of the recommended take-home regimen in the treated areas for a minimum 2 weeks pre-and post-treatment.
